Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems use cells to convert sunlight into electricity. The PV cell has one or two layers of a semi conducting material, usually made of silicon. When light shines on the cell it creates an electric field across the layers, causing electricity to flow.

You use the electricity from the solar panels to supplement the business electricity load to reduce your electrical bills. Plus, during periods of low usage your electric company will turn the meter backwards and give power back to the grid. This is called Net Metering and actually gives you credit on your bill for extra power that you generate.

Maintenance/Warranty

Tipping Point PV systems have a 25 year warranty and the average lifetime of an inverter is 15 years. The only routine maintenance required by the system is periodic cleaning of the array, and this only during extended dry periods.

The inverter is used to convert the direct current (DC) electricity generated by the solar panels to alternating current (AC) that can be used in homes. The inverter is usually installed in the basement of the home near the circuit breaker box and the grid connection point. The inverter is connected to the panels, the grid, and the breaker box, and monitors electricity production from the panels.
Net Metering is where the excess electricity generated by your solar system during the day is sent back to the electricity grid. This actually spins your meter backwards giving you in essence a credit for that electricity.
